Undergraduate Programs, MIS, Entrepreneurship, and Management Hold Strong in Latest Rankings

Eller College of Management undergraduate programs held onto its slot at #14 among public business programs in the 2013 America’s Best Colleges issue of U.S. News & World Report. The Eller College ranked #24 among all collegiate schools of business in the nation.
Three of the College’s specialties ranked among the top programs in the country:
- For the third year in a row, the Department of Management Information Systems ranked #1 among public schools (#3 overall), behind MIT and Carnegie Mellon.
- The McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship maintained its #2 ranking among public school programs; the program ranked #6 overall, behind Babson College, Indiana University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Southern California, and MIT.
- The Department of Management and Organizations ranked #17 overall, and #14 among public school programs.
Each spring, U.S. News surveys deans and senior faculty at undergraduate business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The overall and specialty rankings are based solely on this peer survey.
Additionally, Princeton Review/Entrepreneur magazine’s annual survey placed the McGuire Center #2 among public undergraduate programs (#7 overall) and #4 among public graduate programs (#9 overall).

“The McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship was among the first such programs in the country, and its reputation continues to draw students to the UA,” said Len Jessup, dean of the Eller College. “Alum of the program have launched over 500 businesses since 1984. While the rankings recognition is wonderful, the tangible impact of the program on our economy is even more important.”
The McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship is also a finalist in the 2012 Governor’s Celebration of Innovation Awards in the academia category. Awards will be announced on November 8, 2012.
