Sarnoff considers himself the ultimate B student, and believes that his involvement outside school helped him become a well-rounded person. “With as many distractions as there are at a school as wonderful as the U of A, it took it took me a year or two to get my footing as a student.”
“I cannot express how important my merit scholarship was to my decision-making process on which MBA program to attend.”
The Eller College completed its first semester using tablet PCs donated by HP as part of a $74,000 grant last year.
“I have spoken to my fellow scholarship recipients, and each one has told me how much this scholarship has affected their lives.”
The Susan Bulkeley Butler Faculty Fellowship was awarded to associate professor of finance Kathleen Kahle. “The fact that we have such an accomplished woman teaching in the finance department is great,” Butler says.
The Bradley J. Funk Memorial Scholarship will fund full-time MBA students beginning in fall 2008.
Earlier this year, Phil Hagenah, BSBA Marketing ’69, established an endowment to support advertising education at the UA.
Finding time for community outreach and student leadership in the middle of a busy MBA curriculum can be tough, but it can be done. Two 2008 graduates — Leeann Christensen and Courtney Martin — were recognized for the contributions they made over and above academics at the annual MBA awards in May.
