April 5, 2002
U.S. News & World Report released its annual ranking of graduate business programs today. The Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) at The University of Arizona's Eller College of Business and Public Administration placed 4th nationally. The Eller College is one of only three institutions to maintain top-5 status since the inception of the U.S. News rankings in 1989 (the other two institutions being the MIT-the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Carnegie Mellon University).
The Entrepreneurship Program ranked 15th in the nation, up from last year's 20th spot.
The Eller MBA Program remained strong at #34. This is the fourth consecutive year the Eller College's MBA Program has been rated in the top 35 and the tenth straight year among the top 50.
"While our current ranking represents a slight drop from our highest ever ranking of #30 last year," said Eller College dean, Mark Zupan, "we are even more committed to focusing on the fundamentals that have been the reason for our rise in national stature over the long term-recruiting the best possible students; delivering a high-quality education while those students are enrolled in our MBA Program; and aggressively locating internship and full-time job opportunities for our students."
The Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona is internationally recognized for pioneering research, innovative curriculum, distinguished faculty, excellence in management information systems, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility. U.S. News & World Report ranks the Eller undergraduate program #14 among public business schools and three of its programs are among the top 20 — Entrepreneurship, MIS, and Management. U.S. News & World Report ranks the Eller MBA Full-Time program #44 in the U.S. and #21 among public business schools. The College leads the nation’s business schools in generating grant funds for research. In addition to a Full-Time MBA program, the Eller College offers an Evening MBA program and the Eller Executive MBA. The Eller College of Management supports approximately 5,700 undergraduate and 700 graduate students on the UA campus in beautiful Tucson, Arizona.
