The University of Arizona's Eller College of Management ranked 12th in undergraduate business education among public business colleges nationwide.
TUCSON, Ariz. – August 20, 2004 – The undergraduate program at the Eller College of Management climbed higher in the 2005 U.S. News & World Report survey of best business programs, moving from 14th to 12th among public business colleges and placing 20th among business schools overall.
At the same time, the program jumped to third overall in the MIS specialty from the fifth position in last year’s rankings. The Eller College is one of only three institutions to maintain top-five status in the MIS business specialty since the inception of the U.S. News rankings in 1989 (the two other institutions being MIT and Carnegie Mellon University).
“It’s an honor to see our commitment to advancing undergraduate education reflected in the latest annual rankings,” said Ken Smith, Interim Dean of Eller College.
Pamela Perry, Associate Dean, Eller College Undergraduate Programs, was also pleased to see the annual rankings reflect improvements in the undergraduate program, including a strong focus on community, continuously renewed curriculum, increased opportunities for student leadership and experiential learning, and its Eller integrity initiative, called E-tegrity, that continues to gain national recognition.
“We’ve established a can-do community among all the students, faculty, and staff,” Perry commented. “More than ever, this program is designed to help students achieve their personal vision of success — it’s very rewarding to see the hard work that goes into developing innovative programs elevate the Eller College to a top-20 ranking nationwide.”
The annual rankings will be published in the U.S. News & World Report newsstand book America’s Best Colleges as well as the weekly issue of U.S. News & World Report available Monday, August 23. Rankings are also available at the publication’s website: www.usnews.com.
