2020 DigiDudes and TechDivas Technology Programs
A University of Arizona tradition since 2005, the Eller College is again offering summer technology camps for girls and boys in grades 5-9.
The Eller College summer camps focus on technical knowledge and skills but also incorporate other important skills such as teamwork, strategy, presentation, design and more. This fun new take on the camps allows each and every camper's individual talents and preferences to be appreciated and developed, creating a better camp experience for everyone!
If you're looking for a program that will show campers entertaining and hands-on yet practical technology skills and how to apply technology to achieve goals, all while having fun, then look no further than the DigiDudes and TechDivas program!
Camps are for 5th through 9th graders and will take place during each week in June on the University of Arizona campus in Tucson.
We have developed fun ways for students entering grades 5-9 to explore technology through exercises that appeal to students. During our camps, students are given the opportunity to work with these powerful programs and concepts and are encouraged to use them in a safe and responsible manner. It is our hope that the technology program helps develops each student’s confidence and knowledge with technology and aids them academically.

Learn more about each camp:
Face the Shark Tank! We are in the fourth industrial revolution, and successful businesses will have to leverage the ever evolving landscape of cloud services, IoT, new technologies, and the integration of technology into our daily lives. Campers develop their own forward looking fantasy company, develop an internet presence and pitch it to the Shark Tank.
Cyber and network security are vital to today’s technology landscape. Campers will learn to interact with networks and their associated tools including Unix-shell scripting (such as bash scripting), IoT, encryption, and the cloud through fun projects that harness creativity, critical thinking, and communication.
Campers will learn fundamental concepts of computer science and programming. The camp emphasizes the various aspects of computing such as problem solving, algorithm design, and program construction. Campers also explore the application of programming to various real-world problems. Object-oriented programming is used as a medium to develop the camper’s problem solving skills.
For those wanting to create worlds of their own and often find themselves lost within their own creativity, this week will encompass some of the most intriguing ways that technology can aid and facilitate all forms of art. Campers will capture photos and edit them within Photoshop, be taught the basics of animation with Scratch and Processing, and learn the basics of game design and how to create their own games through Unity!
Sessions are held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at McClelland Hall on the University of Arizona campus (view map and directions). Some portions of the camp may also be held in the Fred Fox School of Music, located just on the other side of the Speedway Boulevard / Olive Avenue underpass.
