Eller Level-Up Workshops – Powered by Tech Core | Intro to Data Visualization
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10, 2021
This workshop is an introduction to tools used for data visualization and some best practices to keep in mind. We will cover a range of visualizations used for tabular, geospatial, or network data, and highlight the following programs ( python, arcgis online , and plotly-js ) to generate these visualizations. At the end of this workshop participants will be able to talk about the theoretical "what, how, and why" of data vis and move forward from this visualization design to implementation using the tools covered.
Devin Bayly is a member of the Research Technologies Data Visualization team here at the University of Arizona. He works with researchers, students and faculty to tell stories and communicate ideas with visualizations on and off the web.
Kiri Carini is the Geospatial Specialist in the Data Cooperative at the University Libraries. She supports researchers and students with their GIS and geospatial data needs.
