Eller Named a Top 25 Public Undergraduate Business Program by U.S. News & World Report
Five Eller specialties also rank among the nation’s Top 25 public programs, with Management Information Systems (MIS) leading the way as the nation’s No. 1 public undergraduate MIS program.
The Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona ranks No. 21 among public undergraduate business programs and No. 33 among all undergraduate business programs in U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges rankings, released Tuesday September 22, 2026.
“We are proud of these results, and the recognition belongs to our students and faculty,” said Karthik Kannan, dean and Halle Chair in Leadership of the Eller College. “Their talent, curiosity and commitment are what make Eller distinctive.”
2027 Eller undergraduate business rankings
These rankings highlight five Eller specialties, but this is a college-wide achievement. Students in every Eller major are part of a top 25 public undergraduate business program and of the community that makes this recognition possible.
Eller MIS ranks No. 1 among public universities
Eller’s undergraduate MIS program has placed among the nation’s top five every year since U.S. News & World Report began ranking the specialty in 1989. Its No. 1 public and No. 2 overall positions in the 2027 rankings continue a record that now spans nearly four decades. That recognition has endured as the field itself has changed dramatically.
Today, Eller MIS combines established strength in enterprise systems with expertise in data analytics, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
“Rankings are one way to understand the strength of a college, but what students experience here matters most,” Kannan said. “At Eller, students encounter challenging ideas, practical opportunities and people who are invested in their success.”
How U.S. News ranks undergraduate business programs
The U.S. News & World Report undergraduate business rankings are based on peer assessment surveys completed by deans and senior faculty at accredited undergraduate business programs. Specialty rankings reflect the programs those academic leaders identify as particularly strong in each field.
The rankings were released in September 2026 as part of the 2027 Best Colleges rankings.
