Mark J. Sammons came to Arizona after a 30-year career in public history museums in New England as an educator, program planner, researcher, curator, executive director and president. He lectured in the graduate school of history at the University of New Hampshire and published scholarly works on black history through the University Press of New England and Harvard. At UA he has been coordinator of outreach for Arizona school teachers since 2009 and filled more than 3,500 seats in 150 workshops across southern Arizona, helping them fulfill the state curriculum requirement of teaching the basic principles of economics in all grades.
