Partnering for Success
The Business Communication Program strives to maintain a strong connection with the Tucson community and its corporate partners. Through these strong relationships, Eller students have the ability to apply the knowledge gained from the classroom to real-world challenges. Additionally, companies have access to top talent for consulting projects and the employee pipeline.
Executive Mentor Program
Our students benefit from the active participation of seasoned corporate leaders who provide their expertise, business acumen and insight through classroom simulations, lectures and networking events. Students get the inside scoop on best practices, lessons learned and collective wisdom from executives who wish to donate their time and expertise.
“I mentor with Eller because it gives me the opportunity to share what I've learned with a new generation of leaders. I feel like I get as much out of the experience as the students because of the chance I get to practice my feedback and professional development skills. The time I have spent at Eller has also allowed me to meet up-and-coming talent with a diverse range of backgrounds and professional interests.”
- Eddie White '08 (MBA), Engineer, Raytheon
Corporate-Sponsored Case Competitions
Every year the Business Communication Program partners with corporations to solve real issues or problems the companies face. MBA and undergraduate students compete to come up with a winning solution that provides relevant and informed solutions. Whether our students are solving problems on how to connect with Millennials or figuring out innovative communication solutions to enhance the reach of a business, these sponsorships result in connecting our students with companies and our community. If your organization wishes to sponsor a case competition, let us know!
"I have enjoyed the experience of working with smart, motivated graduate students who desire additional knowledge about communications and how it might work into their future business lives."
- Barry Holt, Executive Mentor
Community Partners
Most of us learn best by doing. The Business Communication Program provides instructional support and guidance for students to tackle real-world problems with local companies and organizations. Our students build their resumes, apply current business knowledge and provide their services in exchange for gaining real-world experience. Faculty members team up with students to provide the necessary feedback and support to ensure learning and successful outcomes.
