The Center for Trust Studies (CTS) in the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona will host its third panel discussion on September 13 at 3 p.m. MST.
The session will take stock of what we learned about trust in the past and where trust studies need to go in the future. Three distinguished panelists will start the session with brief presentations about trends in public trust as well as in trust research in sociology and organizational behavior. Following the presentations, the panel with engage in an interactive discussion with session participants. Registration is required (registration link below).
“Rich data and diverse theories have been accumulated in an effort to better understand trust patterns in our society,” says Oliver Schilke, associate professor of management and organizations in the Eller College and CTS director. “The time is ripe to examine what we know—and what we do not yet know—about trust.”
The event panelists include:
- Russell Dubner, US CEO of the public relations and marketing consulting firm Edelman (which publishes the annual Trust Barometer)
- Karen Cook, Ray Lyman Wilbur Professor of Sociology and faculty director of the Institute for Research in the Social Sciences at Stanford University and elected fellow of the National Academy of Sciences
- Bart de Jong, associate professor of human resource management and organizational behavior in the Peter Faber Business School at the Australian Catholic University
Oliver Schilke will moderate the session. Supported by the National Science Foundation, CTS hosts a series of workshops on trust, develops teaching tools on trust and gets students from a variety of diverse backgrounds actively engaged in trust research.
