2026 University of Arizona Executive of the Year

Celebrating Excellence: Michelle Gass Honored as 2026 University of Arizona, Eller College of Management, Executive of the Year

We were honored to host Michelle Gass, President and CEO of Levi Strauss & Co., as our 2026 Executive of the Year!

Michelle’s career is a masterclass in transformative leadership and brand evolution. From her pivotal roles at Starbucks—where she was instrumental in the global expansion of the Frappuccino— she proudly shared her initial title of Frappuccino Manager with the students, to her tenure as CEO of Kohl’s, she has consistently redefined the retail landscape. Now, at the helm of the iconic American brand, Levi’s, she continues to lead with a "brand-led" focus that balances heritage with cutting-edge innovation.

The highlight of the day was Michelle’s dedication to our students. She sat down for an intimate and insightful fireside chat led by our very own Associate Dean of Partnerships, Anastasiya Ghosh.
The conversation delved into:
* The power of "And": Balancing tradition with modernization.
* Resilience in Leadership: Navigating complex global markets.
* Career Advice: The importance of curiosity and taking bold risks.

Thank you, Michelle, for your time, your wisdom, and for showing our Eller Wildcats what it means to lead with purpose!
