Eller Undergraduates Score Big Win in Deloitte Audit Innovation Campus Challenge
A team of six Eller undergraduate accounting majors traveled to Los Angeles to compete in the regional competition of the Deloitte Audit Innovation Campus Challenge. The team competed against teams from seven universities for the chance to participate in the national competition this spring. The other teams in our region were Arizona State University, Brigham Young University, California Polytechnic Institute, Gonzaga University, University of California Berkeley, University of Southern California and University of Washington.
I am delighted to announce that the UA team earned the chance to compete at the national level in the spring against teams from such universities as Michigan State University and Louisiana State University.
Team members are junior accounting majors Nicole Naslund, Jessica Stelmach, Hang Khuu, Ben McDowell and Hannah Miller and senior accounting majorJake Uthe.

The Audit Innovation Campus Challenge is a nationally driven program hosted by Deloitte’s Audit Innovation group and the Deloitte Foundation, which accelerates innovation in education by helping institutions of higher learning keep pace with the rapidly changing marketplace and evolving technologies. The Challenge engages students and faculty from campuses across the country, providing an educational experience designed to help students develop skills for success in professional services and sharing the culture of innovation at Deloitte with academia and potential future employees.
Each university team had five weeks to respond to a challenge statement, which was released earlier this fall. In addition to the students and faculty advisor, teams also included a Deloitte lead recruiting partner and innovation subject matter leader to support student work toward developing a response, which the students then presented to a panel of two Deloitte judges. The 2018 regional hub events took place in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Charlotte, Los Angeles and Minneapolis.
Two finalists from reach of the regional events, a total of 12 teams, advance to the 2018 national Audit Innovation Campus Challenge April 6-7, 2018 at Deloitte University.
