Externship Spotlight – Warren Baker, University of Arizona UITS

Warren Baker is an MIS major graduating in 2019. This winter break, Warren had an externship with the University of Arizona UITS in Tucson, AZ.

Why did you want to do this externship? I wanted to gain experience in the fields that I am interested in and studying and I wanted to see if a business analysts position would be a good fit for me.

What did you do during this job shadow experience? Over the course of the day, another student and I were able to meet with professionals working in the field that we are interested in and learn a little about what they do on a day to day basis.

What did you learn from the externship? From this externship I learned that though I do think that working as business analysts would be an interesting job; I do not believe that it would be the best position for me in the long run and I would like to pursue other job opportunities with my MIS.
