48 ventures and entrepreneurial organizations to attend Feb. 22 McGuire Innovation Expo
TUCSON, Ariz. – February 14, 2018 – University of Arizona’s McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship is hosting its second McGuire Innovation Expo 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 22 on the UA Mall by the student union. The tradeshow, a gathering of the local entrepreneurship community, including 21 student new ventures being creating in the McGuire New Venture Development Program, is free and open to the public.
"This year’s Innovation Expo builds upon last year’s success, and we’re pleased to showcase more exhibitors this year,” said McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship Director Remy Arteaga. “From the creative projects of our new venture development students to several exciting Tucson start-ups as well as those providing world-class education programs and innovation services—there will be something for everyone at this year’s expo."
There will be 27 booths representing UA and community educational programs, local entrepreneurship resources, and new ventures, and 21 booths showcasing cross-disciplinary student startup teams from the UA Eller College of Management’s McGuire New Venture Development Program. These students have spent six months receiving intensive experiential education that engages them in the process of moving innovation from an early-stage idea to a sustainable launch-ready venture. More information can be found on the McGuire Center website.
Microsoft, the McGuire Center’s social innovation sponsor for the event, will also participate as an exhibitor. Microsoft’s datacenter community development team is committed to engaging university students through Microsoft’s social impact stories and partnering to make a positive social impact on the world.
