Mateer Awarded the Henry and Phyllis Koffler Prize

G. Dirk Mateer, senior lecturer in economics at the University of Arizona Eller College of Management, has been awarded the University’s Henry and Phyllis Koffler Prize for outstanding accomplishments in teaching.

The Koffler Prizes, established through the generosity of Henry and Phyllis Koffler in 2000, recognize outstanding accomplishment in the areas of teaching, research/scholarship/creative activity or public service/outreach. The 2020 awards category is teaching. Recipients in this category are recognized for a history of excellence in the classroom, proven success of students in the classroom and local or national teaching awards.

Mateer joined the Eller College of Management in 2014. In addition to teaching at Eller, he has also taught at the University of California-San Diego, the University of Kentucky, Penn State University, Grove City College and Florida State University. In 1991, he earned his PhD in Economics from Florida State University. His area of expertise is economic education.
