Eller Professor of Finance Receives Prestigious Election
Kathleen Kahle, Thomas C. Moses Professor of Finance at the Eller College of Management, has been elected as regional academic director at-large for The Financial Management Association (FMA).
With more than 4,000 members, the FMA is one of the largest finance organizations in the world and is a global leader in developing and distributing knowledge about financial decision making.
As academic director, Kahle will become a member of the Board of Directors who will be responsible for representing the needs of FMA’s academic members and is a part of the nominating committee responsible for electing future board presidents and vice presidents.
“Kathy’s election to FMA reflects the high esteem her colleagues around the world have of her,” says Rick Sias, Finance Department Head and Tyler Family Endowed Chair in Finance. “This is a great honor, not only for Kathy, but for the greater Eller community.”
Kahle joined the Eller College of Management as associate professor in 2003 and was appointed the Thomas C. Moses Professor in Finance in 2014. Her research interests are around corporate finance, capital structure, securities issues, repurchases and insider trading. Her previous teaching experience includes the University of Pittsburgh.
