Ben Bayardi is a Marketing major graduating in Spring 2022. This summer he interned with Gorman and Company as a Marketing Intern in Madison, Wisconsin.

What was the process for getting this internship, job, or summer experience?

I reached out to a connection who works at the company and asked if they were in need of a marketing intern. As it turned out, they were in the process of strategizing and kicking off their marketing program. I interviewed with the company’s head of development and was lucky enough to work at Gorman for the summer.

What was a typical day like?

Every day was different. I was one of two employees in the marketing department since they had just started focusing on marketing, so the two of us would interview the heads of different departments to aid in our marketing strategy meetings.

What was your favorite part of the experience?

My favorite part of my internship was the opportunity to present a competitive analysis that I conducted at a market president meeting to C-level executives, members of the board of directors, market presidents, and the heads of the different departments.

If you worked on a big project, please describe it below:

I was able to attend and contribute to meetings concerning the marketing and branding strategies. Being able to contribute in these meetings and doing meaningful work that contributed to the company’s marketing strategy made it clear just how valuable this experience was.
