Erik Nvagbara is a BA Economics major graduating in the Spring of 2022.  This summer he interned with Beacon Investment Real Estate as a Real Estate Investment Intern in Scottsdale, Arizona.

What was the process for getting this internship, job, or summer experience?

I was in the process of looking for an internship las Spring semester. I looked at different options by using various job finding services and applied to different companies. Finally, I was able to find a perfect fit for me. I went through two interview sessions before receiving the offer.

What was a typical day like?

The first 2 weeks I was required to complete the training. After training we worked independently in the first part of the day before meeting with the team and supervisors to conclude what we have accomplished as a team that day.

What was your favorite part of the experience?

Being able to work closely with my supervisors was my favorite part.

If you worked on a big project, please describe it below:

I created financial analysis of various properties for multiple investors before entering a binding contract.

What did you find most challenging?

Learning about the internal system of real estate investments was the most challenging for me.

What did you learn?

How to communicate with people on business professional level, improved my time management skills and learned about multi-family investment operations.

What advice do you have for other students looking for a similar experience, or advice for future students to be successful?

To get involved and focus on everything that interests you as a future career, engage in Fairs that Eller provides for its students, and finally, expand your network as the connections you create are extremely valuable nowadays.

How did Eller prepare you for this experience?

Seeing people succeed after graduating from Eller encouraged me to try harder in everything I do.
