Internship Spotlight: Ziad Zibaoui, Goldman Sachs
Ziad Zibaoui '23 BSBA (Business Economics and Management Information Systems) was a Rolling Review Summer Analyst within Client Onboarding and Global Markets Operations at Goldman Sachs in Salt Lake City, Utah.
What is your favorite part of the experience?
My favorite part of my internship experience was having the opportunity to explore the workplace culture at Goldman Sachs firsthand. I also enjoyed the incredible people I worked with and the overall challenge of the internship.
What do you find most challenging?
The most challenging component of my internship has been managing the different projects, tasks, meetings, and events throughout a given day. Over time I learned how to prioritize and segment portions of my workday to accomplish the different things asked of me but it was a challenge at first to manage the workload.
What advice do you have for other students looking for similar experiences?
Based on my experience, my advice to those looking for a similar experience is to place emphasis on gaining a detailed understanding of the workplace culture and unique offerings at the firm of your choice and see if aligns with what you are looking for. Given Goldman Sachs is such a large and layered firm, there could be a dozen distinct roles in a particular division. Knowing exactly what you will be doing each day can be difficult to pin-point prior to your internship, making it challenging to choose Goldman Sachs based on the job role alone. However, given the emphasis on mobility at Goldman Sachs, one can transition into a role or division that appeals more to their interest. Therefore, if you enjoy the workplace culture and enjoy the mobility offerings, you will likely find a role you enjoy at Goldman Sachs
How has Eller prepared you for this experience?
As for how Eller has prepared me for this experience, the collaboration, projects, and presentation skills in BCOM have been invaluable and are skills that have helped differentiate me throughout my internship.
