Internship Spotlight: Kylie Becker, New Belgium Brewery

Kylie Becker '25 BSBA (Marketing & Global Business) was a Marketing Intern at New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado.

What was a typical day like?

Over the course of the last 10 weeks, I worked closely with the Fruit Smash Brand Manager participating in an array of meetings regarding the hard seltzer’s brand statistics, selling tools, activations, and future plans.

What was your favorite part of the experience?

As the only Marketing Intern, my experience was very hands-on. This provided me a wide variety of opportunities to personally work with digital agencies, create my own physical marketing materials, manage the social media channels, participate in photoshoots, and meet one-on-one with everyone in the Marketing Department to learn about their professional backgrounds and roles within the company.

If you worked on a big project, please describe it below:

Alongside my daily responsibilities, I cultivated a Recommended 2023 Go-To-Market Plan for Fruit Smash complete with a re-envisioned brand strategy, regional focus area recommendations, and a strategic marketing plan for next year. I presented this Recommended Go-To-Market Plan to the marketing team as my final internship project.

What did you learn?

I learned so much about each of the specializations within the marketing field including brand management, analytics, communications, digital strategies, and consumer engagement activities. I also learned a lot about myself professionally and the kind of innovative culture I aspire to work in in the future.

Did you feel supported by the company or organization you worked with?

New Belgium Brewery is a human-powered brewery and it really shows. Although I was the only Marketing Intern, I still was very comfortable and confident in my position because everyone made an extra effort to get to know me both professionally and personally.
