Eller PhD Student Wins Prestigious Award
Jeong Yeol Kim ’23 PhD, Economics, has been selected as the Student Article Reader’s Choice winner for the 2023 Antitrust Writing Awards for his article Strategic Delegation and Collusion: An Experiment.
The Antitrust Writing Awards recognize outstanding papers on antritrust and competition policy in economics and law across four categories: academic, business, student and soft laws. More than 1200 papers relevant to antitrust were submitted—and for the student article field more than 600.
“I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity,” says Kim. “Competing with students from other prestigious institutions known for antitrust, I am proud to have represented the University of Arizona Eller College of Management and earned recognition for our contribution to antitrust economics.”
After finishing the PhD program, Kim will return to Korea to be an assistant professor in antitrust economics and policy at the Korea development Institute School of Public Policy and Management.
“I owe a great deal to the Eller College’s department of economics and its professors who have supported me throughout my academic journey,” he says. “As an alum of the Eller College, I hope to be a researcher who enhances the college’s reputation.”
