Fernanda Yescas '25 Digital Marketing Intern
Digital Marketing Intern at Good JuJu Agency

Fernanda Yescas '25 (BSBA Marketing, FIlm & Television) was a Digital Marketing Intern (promoted to Media Coordinator) at Good JuJu Agency in Tucson, AZ.
What was the process for getting this internship, job, or summer experience?
I applied to this internship through the AAF (American Advertising Federation). The process was fairly straightforward, I submitted my resume through the AAF portal, which was then shared with multiple marketing agencies in the Tucson area. After that it became a matching process, companies reached out to students they were interested in and interviews were scheduled accordingly.
The first company to reach out to me was Good JuJu and after having an interview I discovered not only did I really like their scope of work but I also really connected with their company culture and values. After accepting their offer, they invited me to their office in Oro Valley, where I got to meet the team in person.
What was a typical day like?
Although we are primarily in-office, my day-to-day can vary greatly depending on the campaign we’re working on. Some days are mostly dedicated to video editing for social media or OTT campaigns that have already been filmed. Other days, I focus on scriptwriting or creating shot lists for upcoming projects. Occasionally, we’re out filming content for a client. On certain days, the schedule is more meeting-heavy, centering on brainstorming and collaborating with the team to bring fresh ideas for our clients.
What was your favorite part of the experience?
My favorite part of the experience has been getting to know the Good JuJu team. With this being a boutique agency, thus having a smaller team, I’ve had the opportunity to get to know everyone and collaborate with everyone at some point. Working together on a wide range of projects has not only exposed me to the full scope of what the agency offers its clients, but also allowed me to gain hands-on experience in areas I had never considered exploring, and that exposure has been incredibly valuable for me as a student.
If you worked on a big project, please describe it below:
The biggest project I worked on during my internship was that I got to produce and co-direct a commercial. I am incredibly thankful to the Good JuJu team for trusting me with leading this project. This consisted of sourcing talent, helping create a budget, creating shotlists, doing production design, and taking the lead for the agency on set while partnering with a freelance videographer for the filming day.
