Zakaria Odr '26 BSBA (Finance) was a Corporate Banking Analyst at JPMorgan Chase & Co in New York, New York.

What was the process for getting this internship, job, or summer experience?

Cold applied on Handshake, was given a first round HireVue, then a second round Super Day which consisted of two interviews. Prioritizing GPA while remaining heavily involved on campus were what I believe to be the two most important controllable factors in being given an interview. Make sure to practice for interviews by looking for those who already have experience at the company and reaching out to ask for assistance.

What was a typical day like?

8AM-4PM or 9AM-5PM, many networking and speaker sessions, orientation week consisted of basic Excel training and accounting concepts, working on case studies to be presented amongst peers for the duration of the summer.

What was your favorite part of the experience?

Meeting other interns, getting to speak with very senior individuals within the company.

What did you learn?

How to manage my time much more efficiently than ever before

What advice do you have for future students with a similar interest?

Reach out to as many people as possible once you realize what you want to do/where you want to do it and try to pick their minds. If you are given the opportunity don't stop there, continue doing so while you have the opportunity to network internally.

How did Eller prepare you for this experience?

Many if not all of the Excel and accounting concepts that we covered in training, I was familiar with thanks to fundamental classes such as BNAD and ACCT.
