If you worked on a big project during your internship, please describe what you did to help

A big project I worked on during my internship was a quarterly report for a car brand. I started by exporting data from a tracking tool and organizing it in Excel, where I created visual charts to show performance trends. I then analyzed the data to identify key insights and put together a PowerPoint presentation that explained what the data showed. In addition, I conducted research on the car brand and its competitors to provide context for the performance results. This helped the team understand both the internal and external factors influencing the brand’s position in the market.

What did you find most challenging about your internship?

One of the most challenging parts of my internship was adjusting to the fast-paced environment and learning industry-specific tools quickly. I was constantly moving from project to project for different companies. I had to manage multiple deadlines while making sure my work was accurate and insightful. Overall, pushing through those challenges helped me grow both personally and professionally.

What advice do you have for other students that are also considering interning abroad?

My biggest advice would be to stay open-minded and flexible. Interning abroad means you’ll be exposed to different work cultures and communication styles, which can feel unfamiliar at first. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, whether it’s trying new tasks or meeting new people. Also, take time to explore the local area and learn from the experience outside of work.

How did Eller (or your previous coursework) prepare you for your internship?

Eller prepared me well for my internship by helping me build strong analytical and communication skills. Courses like MIS and Economics taught me how to interpret data and think critically about trends and outcomes. Group projects and presentations helped me become more confident working with others and speaking in a professional setting. I also felt well-prepared to use tools like Excel and PowerPoint, which were essential in my role.
