Payton Vosik '27 (Business Management, Entrepreneurship-Intended) interned at COMMAS in Sydney, Australia.

If you worked on a big project during your internship, please describe what you did to help.

During my internship, I took on a role that built a collaboration from the ground up: the COMMAS x Icebergs Collection. I created visual mock-ups with unique design ideas and proposed the overall concept for the capsule. I researched past luxury brands pop-up events to get inspiration and identified effective strategies. Additionally, I made an invite list for the launch, while targeting people who align with the brand’s overall aesthetic. I also reviewed pricing and created a detailed post and pre-launch plan to fully make the vision of the campaign come to life.

What did you find most challenging about your internship?

The most challenging part of my internship was using platforms that were out of my comfort zone. I had to use a platform to upload and enhance hundreds of photos onto the company’s website. At first, I was very overwhelmed and lacked confident in navigating the system. However, by the end, I was able to use the platform independently. This was a great reminder and experience for me because it pushed me explore new things.

What advice do you have for other students that are also considering interning abroad?

My advice for a future student who is considering interning abroad is to go above and beyond in everything you do. Arrive early, ask frequently for more tasks, and stay engaged will take your internship experience to the next level. The way you carry yourself professionally will leave a lasting impression on the employer and the rest of the employees. Treat every relationship and connection as important because you truly never know where it could lead.

How did Eller (or your previous coursework) prepare you for your internship?

Eller and my previous coursework have prepared me for my internship in numerous ways. All the group projects I have completed have truly paid off because during my internship it has helped me work with others collaboratively to get the tasks completed. Additionally, taking feedback in classes taught me how to receive constructive criticism, which was essential during my internship experience. It assisted me in being able to adapt and work efficiently. Overall, all of these experiences boosted my confidence and skills needed for my internship.
