The internship recruitment process consisted of three steps:

Application – This is your initial submission with a resume and responses to program-specific questions.

HireVue Interview – This is a pre-recorded, computer-based interview that’s common across most finance internships. It serves as a part of your application and helps the recruiters assess your fit for the role.

Superday – If selected, you’ll be invited to a Superday, which is a series of live interviews lasting around 2 hours. These are typically conducted by senior leadership—Vice Presidents, Executive Directors, and Managing Directors.

What is a typical day like?

I usually arrive at the office around 6:45 AM. I start my day by reviewing my calendar and preparing for meetings. I also do some market research to understand what happened overnight in the financial markets.

Every Monday and Friday, we have a Morning Call with senior leaders. In my case, that includes Mary Erdoes, the CEO of Asset & Wealth Management. They share key updates and insights.

Since I’m in the Business Management line within the Asset Management team, our internal teams act as our clients, meaning that we have a lot of cross divisional teamworks. We support and enable their business operations. Our coverage spans across the U.S. and Canada, which has given me exposure to JPMC offices in different countries—a very exciting part of the job.

No two days are the same. My day usually includes team meetings, internship program events, multiple projects and coffee chats with professionals across the firm. One of the most memorable events was hearing directly from Jamie Dimon (CEO of JPMC) and Jeremy Barnum (CFO).

My day typically wraps up around 6 PM.

What has been your favorite part of the experience?

Honestly, there’s a lot to love, but what stands out the most is the people and the culture. I’ve had previous experiences at other high finance firms, but JPMC has truly been the best environment. People here genuinely care about your growth and impact. For example, before starting, I was nervous about building relationships, but everything turned out better than expected. From Analysts to Managing Directors, everyone has been approachable, supportive, and willing to help—regardless of their title.

Advice:

Never let rejections discourage you. Just a year ago, I was overwhelmed by the number of rejections I received. But what got me here was persistence. Consistency is key. Know your story, set clear goals, and work hard toward them. Success happens when preparation meets opportunity. And most importantly—use your resources. Go to your career coaches, mentors, and ask for help.

How did Eller prepare you for this experience?

I can confidently say that I wouldn’t be where I am today without my mentors, career advisors, and upperclassmen.

I still remember walking into Jeff Welter’s office with no clear direction and asking how to break into finance. His advice led me to connect with Career Coaches and upperclassmen who had done similar Wall Street internships—and they truly made a difference. Clubs and classes also played a big role. Clubs like Investments helped build my industry knowledge, while Business Analytics sharpened my technical skills like Excel and Tableau.
