John Moeller is the director of the MIS Department’s Academic and Research Technologies Group. This group provides instructional and research computing support for academic programs including MIS, MISonline, Masters in Cybersecurity and Masters in Business Analytics.

His purview includes the McKeever Family Foundation Lab, a 53-seat instructional computing lab in McClelland Hall that provides access to enterprise-grade software and hardware resources to students in the Eller College of Management. It also includes a server infrastructure comprised of virtual servers, networking and storage.

The Academic and Research Technologies Group also maintains and provisions software license agreements that provide best-of-breed software to students for their academic use.

John has been at the University of Arizona in various systems administration and infrastructure architecture roles since 2004, including positions in CALS, SBS and COP. His professional interests tend to revolve around the automated management of the IT systems lifecycle, particularly the deployment and configuration management phases. He is also interested in configuration-as-code, scripting, software licensing agreements, management and leadership, professional development and virtual teams.
