8 Questions with Maddie Taylor '17 BSBA (Accounting)
Maddie Taylor is currently a junior studying accounting within the Eller College of Management. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Taylor has been extremely involved during her first three years at the UA. Check out Taylor’s responses to our 8 questions.
Why did you choose the UA?
I always wanted to go to UA because the campus is so beautiful and it is not too close or too far away from home.
What made you choose to be an accounting major?
I fell in love with accounting right away, the material made sense to me and I enjoyed learning about it. After getting involved in the Accounting Student Association I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in the accounting industry.
What type of relevant professional experience have you had so far?
I had an internship last summer and I am hoping to obtain an internship and externships this upcoming summer.
How have you been involved on campus?
I'm involved with the Accounting Student Association, Beta Alpha Psi, and the Cohort Advisory Board.
Have you held any positions?
I am currently on the board for the Accounting Student Association as an exam review coordinator.
What have your involvement and professional experience taught you?
I have developed communication and collaborative skills through my involvement and experiences and I believe these will allows me to excel in my future professions.
What is your plan for the rest of college?
I plan to stay at the UA to obtain my masters in accounting upon completing my undergraduate degree.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
I aspire to work for a large public accounting firm as an auditor.
