Study: Resilient Organizing: Adapting Health Care Organizations for COVID-19

We are conducting a research study entitled Resilient Organizing: Adapting Health Care Organizations for COVID-19. The purpose of the study is to examine how health care organizations are responding to the current outbreak of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and how those responses may change over time as the pandemic unfolds. The study is intended to generate insights that may inform health care leaders, the public, and policymakers about ways to improve the health care system to deal with pandemics.

In this study, participants will complete an initial interview (about 1 hour) about the COVID-19 pandemic and their organization’s responses to it. Participants may then be invited to continue participation through a series of weekly brief interviews (15 minutes) about their organization’s ongoing responses to the pandemic. Once the pandemic is over, participants will be invited to engage in a final conclusion interview (about 1 hour), in which they will reflect on experiences and lessons learned from the pandemic. All interviews will be conducted remotely via teleconference. Interviews will be audio recorded and transcribed. All data will be de-identified, and the names of participants and their organizations will not be revealed in any report from this study.

To be eligible, individuals must hold an administrative/managerial role (clinical or non-clinical) in a health care organization and be at least 18-years-old.

There is no compensation (monetary or otherwise) for participation in this study; however, participants will have the option of receiving a summary report of findings once the study is completed.
