AdFair 2016

The annual AdFair event celebrates advertising and gives students access to professionals in the advertising industry. Edward Ackerley, an advertising professional, faculty advisor, and marketing faculty, plans and executes the event, with help from student organizations including AdCats, American Advertising Federation, National Student Advertising Competition, American Marketing Association, and Business of Entertainment Club.

Over 200 students and faculty attended AdFair 2016 in order to gain insight into the experiences of three UA alumni.

Jenny Budwig graduated from the Eller College with her marketing degree in 2006. During her time at the UA, Budwig served on the executive boards of American Marketing Association and Delta Sigma Pi. Budwig is currently the marketing event manager at WebPT, an EMR designed for physical, occupational, and speech therapists. She encouraged students to pursue their dreams, saying that “magic happens outside of the comfort zone.”

Lisa Eisenberg graduated in 2010 with a double major in marketing and entrepreneurship from the Eller College, where she was involved in both American Advertising Federation and the National Student Advertising Competition. Eisenberg is now an account executive at an advertising tech start-up, Yieldbot, in Chicago. Eisenberg explained to attendees how technology powers advertising. At Yieldbot, Eisenberg creates solutions for media agencies.

Gabby Pavelko is an Eller alumna who graduated in 2007 with degrees in both marketing and entrepreneurship. Pavelko has spent time at two advertising agencies, FCB in San Francisco and OMD Melbourne in Australia, before she decided to pursue a career in consumer packaged goods. Currently at JM Smucker, Pavelko also owns and operates a group fitness studio in San Francisco called Sweat Republic.

AdFair provides students with an incredible experience and a chance to explore the advertising industry as a potential career path.
