In November 2019 the Eller College of Management's LGBTQ+ Advisory Board hosted its inaugural LGBTQ+ breakfast, dedicated to creating awareness of the most inclusive practices in the classroom for faculty and staff. The breakfast drew a full house, with over 60 faculty, staff and students attending, and included presentations from the University of Arizona LGBTQ+ Resource Center and sponsor PwC as well as a student panel representing the LGBTQ+ community within the Eller College.

"What was most special to me was looking into the crowd and realizing the reach that the individuals in the room have," says LGBTQ+ Advisory Board member Brennen Feder '22 BSBA (Business Management), BS (Literacy, Learning and Leadership): professors who teach a variety of class sizes, staff who work one-on-one with students and college deans. The training and information gained from this session can be utilized to reach every student who comes through Eller.

"It only takes one individual to really touch the life of a student," says Feder. "But it is a team effort to create a learning environment where students feel safe and comfortable to be who they are. I believe this was a step in the right direction for our college and I am honored to be just a small part of moving the needle."
