With spring 2020 graduation only a few weeks behind us, Eller Business Consulting already has its sights on the fall semester, with plans to develop bigger and better professional experiences for graduate students at the University of Arizona.

The Eller Business Consulting program, housed in the Eller College of Management, provides an opportunity for graduate student teams to work directly with companies on semester-long consulting projects. Projects are unique to each company’s real-world business challenges and opportunities. Current company clients include Microsoft, Intel and the Arizona Department of Economic Security.

Thanks to a new partnership between Eller Business Consulting and University of Arizona Health Sciences, the program is rolling out two new consulting projects with Gore, an American multinational manufacturing company founded by Bill and Vieve Gore. The two new projects, focused on sustainability and medical products, respectively, has enabled additional student recruitment from a variety of colleges across Arizona’s campus, including: the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the School of Geography and Development, the College of Public Health, the College of Education, the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, the College of Engineering and the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences. Though Eller Business Consulting has historically worked with students from a variety of colleges when specific skillsets were needed, this year marks the first time that the program has opened general recruitment.

“This approach serves to enhance the Eller Business Consulting program across new opportunities with a different mix of students, exposing them to diverse workgroups they are sure to encounter as they enter the job market following graduation,” says Sandy Kenny, executive director of the Eller Business Consulting, “which is a win-win for both the Eller College and Health Sciences. We are excited to announce this new partnership and look forward to see how this cross-campus collaboration will positively impact our students and our project outcomes.”
