Accounting Lecturer Quoted by Tucson PBS/NPR Affiliate
Janeé Johnson, lecturer and director of accounting masters programs at the Eller College of Management, was quoted on the pros and cons of adjustments to tax filing deadlines in an April 15 Arizona Public Media article on the current tax deadline and other Arizona events.
The news article reports various recent Arizona events and laws, including the extension of the tax deadline from April 15 to May 17 this year.
“Late filers can feel more comfortable about waiting until the last minute,” says Johnson. “In some ways procrastination did pay off a little bit this year because the extension to file also includes an extension to pay.”
Johnson has been the director of accounting masters programs at the Eller College of Management since 2017 and a lecturer in accounting since 2014. Before that, she worked for CliftonLarsonAllen as a tax engagement director. Johnson graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s in Accounting in 2006 and a Master of Accounting (MAcc) in 2007.
