Eller Department of Economics To Host Multiple National Conferences

The Department of Economics in the Eller College of Management is hosting three conferences in October: The 15th North American Meeting of the Urban Economics Association, The 81st Annual Meeting of the Economic History Association and The 2021 Economic Science North American Regional Meeting.

The North American Meeting of the Urban Economics Association, organized by Associate Professor of Economics Ashley Langer will take place October 14-16 virtually and will cover topics such as:

  • economic development
  • traffic congestion
  • spatial models applied to climate change and pollution
  • implications of telecommuting and more.

The Annual Meeting of the Economic History Association which takes place at the El Conquistador Resort in Tucson, Arizona, on October 29-31 will have the theme “Rules, Organizations and Governments: Institutions and Economic History.” Price Fishback, APS Professor of Economics, will be leading a discussion on The Huey Long Spending Program in Louisiana: Estimating Fiscal Multipliers During the Great Depression.

On October 28-31, the North American Economic Science Association Conference will be held at the Westward Look Resort in Tucson, Arizona, and is being organized by Eller Professor of Economics and Director of the Economics Science Laboratory, Charles Noussair.
