Yong Liu, Robert A. Eckert Endowed Chair in Marketing and marketing department head has been selected as a 2022-2023 recipient of the University of Arizona Foundation’s Eugene G. Sander Faculty Fundraising Award.

“Yong was selected for this award because he is an exemplar of faculty who upholds high standards of fundraising and collaborative development efforts,” says John-Paul Roczniack, president and CEO of the UA Foundation.

The Sander Faculty Fundraising Award—named for former University President and Dean of CALS Eugene G. Sander—was established in 2008 by the UA Foundation Board of Trustees to honor University faculty who set examples among their peers for upholding high standards of performance in fundraising and development efforts.

As department head of marketing, Yong has not only created a solid advisory board of supporters, but prioritized fundraising as well. In doing so, Yong has continued to successfully realize his vision for growing the marketing department offerings to enhance the student experience, as well as inspired donors who are passionate about making an impact at the University of Arizona.  Through his work, Yong has effectively engaged some of the University's top supporters, including Terry and Tina Lundgren and Bob Eckert.

“I am extremely proud of Yong’s hard work, warm and thoughtful donor-relations manner and the commitment to collaboration this has brought to the Eller College,” says Karthik Kannan, dean and Halle Chair in Leadership in the Eller College.

Liu will receive the award at the University of Arizona Foundation’s Board of Trustee’s reception on Thursday, May 4, 2023.
