Pam Perry Wins Billy Joe Varney Award

Pam Perry, senior associate dean of Eller programs, has been awarded the 2023 Billy Joe Varney Award for Excellence.

The Billy Joe Varney Award recognizes a University of Arizona employee who has spent at least 15 years of dedicated service to the institution, its employees and the community of Tucson.

Nominees for the award are evaluated on their actions that go far beyond just performance in their job. Criteria for this award are demonstrated efforts in practicing inclusive excellence in the workplace, service to the university, service to university employees and service to the community.

Various nominees from the entire University are in the running for this award, with only one winner.

“I am delighted that Pam is this year’s Billy Joe Varney Award winner,” says Karthik Kannan, dean and Halle Chair in Leadership. “It is an excellent acknowledgment of her commitment and contribution to the University in general and Eller specifically.”
