Chris Williams '26 Finance Partnerships Intern
Partnerships Intern at Amazon (Twitch)

Chris Williams '26 (Business Management) was a Partnerships Intern at Amazon (Twitch) in San Francisco, CA.
They provided a housing stipend of $2,600 per month to help cover living expenses. They also covered flights to and from San Francisco, along with transportation to and from the office, including Ubers and buses.
What was the process for getting this internship, job, or summer experience?
I first came across the internship opening on LinkedIn, where it was reposted by one of my friends. I applied through the Twitch Careers website, and shortly after, a recruiter reached out to me via email. My first interview was a phone conversation with the recruiter, which served as a preliminary screening to determine if I would be a strong candidate. The next round was an interview with the person who would become my manager. A few weeks later, I participated in a “super day” of interviews with my manager and two members of the team. Following that, the recruiter called to let me know I had been selected for the position. After receiving the offer, I completed a reapplication process through the Amazon Careers system.
What was your favorite part of the experience?
I was fortunate to be part of an internship program that truly encouraged collaboration among all the interns. Since there were only 15 of us, we quickly became close, building strong connections both in and outside of work. We often spent time together after hours, and I genuinely made friendships that I know will last well beyond the internship.
If you worked on a big project, please describe it below:
One of Twitch’s current goals is to attract more of the U25 audience to the platform. Since I fall into that demographic, I was tasked with creating a U25 audience growth strategy document and presentation. At first, I assumed it would be straightforward, but I quickly realized many of my initial ideas were things the company had already done or tested. This pushed me to dig deeper to find truly unique and actionable recommendations. I shifted my perspective by approaching the project as a viewer rather than a staff member, and that change completely transformed my work. In the end, I developed a strategy with insights and ideas that Twitch could realistically implement in the future.
What did you find most challenging?
Due to the stature and nature of the company, there was a strong expectation for me to make a meaningful impact during my three months there. In my previous internship experience, my role was more focused on learning and observing rather than directly contributing. At Twitch, it was made clear to me early on that I would not be viewed as just an intern, but as a regular member of the team who was expected to add value. My manager was extremely supportive, but I still had to learn a lot quickly and apply that knowledge just as fast.
