Hunter Bickes '26 Audit Intern
Audit Intern at PwC

Hunter Bickes '26 (BSBA Accouting, Minor in Chemistry) was an Audit Intern at PwC in Phoenix, AZ.
What was the process for getting this internship, job, or summer experience?
I was able to talk to PwC at meet the firms and then submitted my application on their website after meet the firms. The online application was pretty short and easy to navigate. Once I got the news that I moved on to the next round, I did a coffee chat with a current assosicate at the firm and he gave me advice on how to navigate the interview and gave me insight about the PwC culture. After that I had two 30 minute behavioral interviews back to back with two different employees at the firm. I quickly heard back that I had recieved an offer and PwC and my recruiter were super helpful in navigating the next steps. It was really assuring because everyone at the firm congratulated me and was super excited to welcome me to the office.
What has been your favorite part of the experience?
The best part of the internship was just getting immersed in the PwC office culture. I know in school we hear so much about the Big 4 and sometimes it seems daunting, but after being there for a summer I realized how personable everyone is and how they really just want you to succeed. Everyone in the office was super uplifting and positive and was fun to get to know everyone on a personal level.
What are you learning?
At the start of the internship, the firm flew us out to Disney World where we got to learn a lot about the firm's brand as they are undergoing some changes. I think the most important thing I learned is the importance of building your own personal brand and making sure that the company you are working for aligns with that brand. It really is important to find a company that you enjoy working for and I think PwC really made an effort this summer to show that they really do care about their interns.
What advice do you have for future students with a similar interest?
Just apply. I was super nervous applying for this position as I knew no one that worked at the firm and I've never had a family member work in accounting. But the Eller staff and your fellow students do such a great job of preparing you and giving advice. You will never know if you don't try and honestly the interview experience isn't as scary as it seems. This is a great internship to get your foot in the door at PwC and it is a two part internship so I will return to the office next summer to intern again which is really great if you have plans to go on and get your masters. Also feel free to contact me with any questions about this internship or if you need advice!
