Eller College Student Team Brings Home Hardware at National Sales Competition
The Eller College of Management Professional Selling Team brought home some hardware this weekend. Hannah Besedin ’22 BSBA (Marketing) and former president of the Eller Professional Sales Club, won the overall speed selling competition at The KU Professional Selling Program/King's Hawaiian National Sales Competition. Her performance garnered a standing ovation from both King's Hawaiian executives and their entire sales force.
The Eller College of Management was the only university to advance two students into the final round (Top 6) of the Speed Sell component. Brandon Holmes ’23 BSBA (Management Information Systems) placed 4th.
The team consisted of Brandon Holmes ‘23, Max Davis ’25 BSBA, Hannah Besedin ‘22 and Jackson Westhoff ’22 BSBA (Business Management).
The KU Professional Selling Program/King’s Hawaiian National Sales Competition was hosted by the KU School of Business and took place Friday, April 8, and Saturday, April 9, 2022.
Sponsored and judged exclusively by King’s Hawaiian, the competition is open to all universities, with four undergraduate students and one sales coach representing each university. Components of the competition include:
Individual Speed Selling Round: 90-second elevator pitch to get King’s Hawaiian a meeting with a potential grocery store chain buyer
Team Case Competition: Three-round tournament-style case competition on a real-life business situation for King’s Hawaiian
Participating Universities: Central Missouri University, Emory University, Kansas State University, Loyola Marymount University, Marshall University, Texas Tech University, The University of Arizona, The University of Iowa, The University of Kansas, The University of Minnesota, The University of Nebraska-Lincoln and The University of North Dakota.
