Andrea Rossi, assistant professor of finance in the Eller College of Management, has been cited in an August 19 Wall Street Journal article about his research on mutual fund benchmark changes.

The article explains how contrary to what people believe about fund managers not being able to beat the market, all they must do in order to beat it is change which market they are trying to beat.

Rossi’s research shows that between 2006 and 2018, 37 percent of all U.S. stock mutual funds took part in some sort of change.

Rossi joined the Eller College of Management in 2018 after earning his PhD in Finance from Ohio State University. A Chartered Financial Analyst, his areas of expertise include private equity, asset management, investor behavior and corporate insiders. He has also worked as a financial analyst for PFC (Italy) and as a junior project manager for BNP Paribas (France.)
