Valorie Rice is the business information specialist for the Economic and Business Research Center at the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. Her expertise regarding demographic and economic data on Arizona is regularly sought by the center staff as well as local businesspeople, the university community and general public. The Economic and Business Research Center (EBRC) is a coordinating agency for the Arizona State Data Center (SDC). Rice has been EBRC’s SDC contact for a number of years, and as such, is a local resource for locating and using U.S. Census Bureau data. She delivers support to many of the department’s research projects and plays an integral part in the Making Action Possible (MAP) Dashboard project. She writes articles for the Arizona’s Economy publication on demographic issues as well as for an ongoing column regarding data releases.
Valorie has a bachelor's in psychology from Concordia College in Minnesota and a MLS from the University of Arizona. She is a member of Special Libraries Association, Arizona Library Association, the Association of Public Data Users and the Association for University Business and Economic Research.
