Nuria Seijas
Nuria S. Seijas, CPA, is a doctoral student in the School of Accountancy at the Eller College of Management, University of Arizona. Her research focuses on financial reporting disclosures, auditor impact from disclosure choices, and linguistic application to financial reporting.
Nuria is an AICPA Minority Doctoral Student Fellow and a member of The PhD Project. She will be president for The PhD Project's Accounting Doctoral Student Association (ADSA) for the 2020-2021 academic year and 2021 Annual Conference. Nuria is also a member of the Eller College Diversity and Inclusion Task Force, and maintains professional memberships with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the American Accounting Association (AAA).
Prior to her doctoral studies, Nuria earned a BBA in Accounting, a BBA in Finance, and an MS in Accountancy from the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. She completed the Bauer Business Honors Program and was named the Outstanding Undergraduate Student for the graduating class of Fall 2009, and Outstanding MS Accountancy Student for the graduating class of Fall 2011. Nuria worked in the advisory practice of Deloitte & Touche, LLP as a technology risk consultant, and as an assistant vice-president and audit supervisor in the Internal Audit department for Allegiance Bank in Houston, Texas.
