Areas of Expertise
Seokjun Youn joined the University of Arizona in Fall 2019 as an assistant professor after earning his PhD in Business Administration, specializing in Operations and Supply Chain Management, from Texas A&M University. To date, his research focuses on; operational efficiency in healthcare delivery systems, patient flow and healthcare resource management, health IT, patient portals, online health communities, and clinical practice variation. Applying both empirical and optimization methodologies, he investigates the operational drivers of healthcare delivery performance to understand the impact of public policies and technological innovations on the management of healthcare operations. In additional areas of distinction, he's specialized in research on supply chain logistics and platform business models. He is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), and the Association for Information Systems (AIS).
