James C. Lerch

James C. Lerch is an economics educator and Thomas R. Brown Teacher-in-Residence at University High School In Tucson. He earned his BS in Business Administration from Northern Arizona University, his JD degree from the University of Oregon and a Master of Arts in Economics Education and Entrepreneurship from the University of Delaware. He was a lawyer for 14 years and represented numerous private clients and was also a public defender. After changing careers to become a teacher in 2003, he spent much of his career overseas, teaching economics, history and government in Cameroon, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Macedonia and Lebanon before returning to the US in 2014. Lerch currently teaches Advanced Placement Microeconomic and Macroeconomics in addition to fulfilling his duties as a Teacher-In-Residence.
