Dr. El-Bialy (she/they) is a consumer researcher working within the area of consumer culture theory, using primarily ethnographic and survey research methods. Her research program encompasses two streams: the impact of market regulation on consumers and the consumption of health information in a post-truth world. Her research has been published in Journal of Consumer Affairs, Journal of the American Medical Directors Association, the International Journal of Health Policy and Management, Migration Studies, Health & Place, and The Mental Lexicon. She was selected as an AMA-Sheth Doctoral Consortium Fellow in 2022. Her expertise is in the areas of marketing management, customer experience design, and public policy communications. Her specific contexts of study include healthcare, political messaging, marketplace inequities, and service consumption. 

Dr. El-Bialy is the Honors Program Coordinator for the Marketing Department for 2024/2025. She teaches MKTG450 Consumer Behavior.
