LRC Collaborations
The collaborative aims to connect industry with students, students with faculty, and faculty with industry. We do this in a variety of ways including inviting guest speakers to campus, conducting original research, and producing a white paper series. Below are some highlights of our collaborations.
Curriculum Integration
Lundgren Retail Collaborative connects luminaries in the retail industry with the next generation of retail innovators through special events that foster collaboration and connection. Whether it’s through a classroom appearance, virtual presentation, or industry conference, the Lundgren Retail Collaborative strives to integrate retail executives into the student learning experience.
By creating opportunities for students to meet retail professionals and ask questions, the Lundgren Retail Collaborative fosters an enriching environment where learning expands beyond textbooks and weekly assignments for both undergraduate and graduate students.
Happenings
A recently released Lungren Retail Collaborative study shows that Next Gen workers strongly prefer in-person workplace settings. The findings suggest a market segmentation strategy may be most effective for worker productivity and job satisfaction.
Terry Lundgren, former chairperson of Macy's, Inc., met with Eller marketing students at the annual Thinking Forward Conference held April 12, 2024.
Terry shared insights about his time in the retail industry and provided invaluable feedback on the student projects, which focused on developing innovative products in response to challenges in the retail industry. The Lundgren Retail Collaborative Vision Challenge was the basis for student projects.
Each year, select University of Arizona students have an opportunity to travel to New York to take part in the National Retail Federation’s annual conference, Retail’s Big Show.
Supply chain woes, environmental sustainability, automation, information security, workforce retention and talent recruitment – these are just a handful of the issues facing the retail sector today. To address these challenges, Terry and Tina Lundgren established the Lundgren Retail Collaborative with a $5 million gift to the University of Arizona.
