PhD Minor in Finance

Requirements

The Finance Department is happy to work with doctoral students from around The University of Arizona who wish to minor in Finance. Depending on the student's prior knowledge of finance and major interest, there are two alternative tracks to complete the requirements for a minor in finance, each requiring four graduate-level finance courses. Two prerequisite SAS camps are required before starting finance PhD coursework.

  • Accounting PhD SAS Camp (offered for five weekdays in late July)
  • Finance PhD SAS Camp (offered for two weekdays in late July, immediately following the Accounting PhD SAS camp)

Please note that prerequisite requirements will not be waived.

A minimum grade of B in each course is required to be awarded the minor in finance. Additionally, a Finance Department faculty representative must be a member of the oral comprehensive exam committee and attend the exam in order to complete Graduate College minor requirements.
