Eller is celebrating upward momentum in the 2017 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s America’s Best Colleges issue, released today.

The Eller undergraduate program moved up from No. 22 last year to No. 19 this year among business schools nationwide, and is ranked No. 9 among public programs, reentering the top 10 for the first time since 2007.

Eller’s MIS department is now the No. 1 public program in the U.S., having moved up from No. 4 overall to No. 3, behind MIT and Carnegie Mellon.

In addition, the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship continued to show a strong ranking at No. 3 among public school programs and No. 7 overall.

The Eller Department of Accounting ranked No. 34 overall and No. 16 among public programs.

“The Eller undergraduate program is really extraordinary,” said Paulo Goes, Eller College dean. “I’m grateful that our peers have noticed how our team, led by Pam Perry, continues to evolve to provide the best possible business education for our undergraduate students. Our faculty provide unparalleled instruction, and our students test their classroom knowledge through real-world projects that are seamlessly integrated into the curriculum.”

The Eller College just completed construction on the new, 13,000 square foot Karl and Stevie Eller Professional Development Center. The center is a full-service facility that will be an integral part of each student’s career planning from the moment they set foot on campus. Now students will meet with career coaches, reserve team rooms and meet with recruiters in McClelland Hall.

“We are proud to provide a student experience that rivals private schools, embedded in a top public university, with all the opportunities that affords,” said Pam Perry, associate dean and director of undergraduate programs at Eller. “It is truly a team effort, from the master teachers delivering our courses to the advisors and career coaches helping a student reach their professional goals. This momentum is a testament to their dedication to our students.”

In addition to its top showing in the overall business program, Eller continued to preform well in business specialties. In particular, said Goes, “The top rankings we receive in MIS and entrepreneurship validate our national prominence in technology and innovation.”
