Independent Entrepreneurship: Rachael Huff '19 BSBA (Marketing and Entrepreneurship)
6 Questions with Rachael Huff '19 BSBA (Marketing and Entrepreneurship)
How did you become interested in entrepreneurship?
I wanted to be an entrepreneur ever since I was 7 years old in Girl Scouts. All the girls were making art projects and I was creating a menu for my steak house called “Rachael’s Rock’n Steakhouse.” My parents later started their own ventures that I helped them with, and this got me even more excited about entrepreneurship.
Why were you interested in the McGuire New Venture Development Program?
Becoming an entrepreneur is what I want to do with my life, and I knew this program would be a huge step in that direction. I’ve been waiting 3 years to finally be apart of a program where I belong.
How do you plan to use your entrepreneurship education?
I plan to launch a company/product by May 2019. I also want to start various ventures internationally.
How does entrepreneurship compliment the rest of your studies?
I am studying marketing which is a huge part of entrepreneurship. Building a product is only one part of the equation. If you can’t market your product, the business won’t go anywhere.
What is your dream career?
My dream career is to own and operate multiple businesses in multiple countries. I’ve never wanted a corporate job, and I don’t plan on getting one.
