Internship Spotlight: Ellie Fultz, Snapchat Inc.
Ellie Fultz is a Marketing and MIS double major graduating in the spring of 2022. This summer she interned for Snapchat Inc. as an Ad Solutions Intern/Global Business Expansion Intern in Santa Monica, California.
What was the process for getting this internship, job, or summer experience?
I applied via LinkedIn and had two 45-minute interviews with an AM and a manager that ended up being on my team. The first interview was culture-based (why do you want to work at Snap, what would you change about Snapchat, etc.). The second was a behavioral interview.
What was a typical day like?
I was on an international team (Global Business Expansion), so some days started at 6 a.m. and other days went until 7 p.m. based on when I had meetings. In general, I would connect with my mentor in the morning and work on projects throughout the day. I had at least one meeting almost every day, but every day felt different.
What was your favorite part of the experience?
I got to work on projects that interested me. My team was amazing to work with and I already miss them. The company culture was amazing. It felt like a massive start up. Everyone is super transparent and I got to meet with the CMO a couple times.
What did you learn?
I learned all about the platform side of performance advertising and how ad platforms (Google, Facebook, etc.) grow their business internationally and scale their business model.
How did Eller prepare you for this experience?
Collaboration is a huge part of the culture at Snap, so first semester Eller really helped me prep for the internship.
Anything else you would like to share about your summer experience?
I had a really great experience at Snap and would recommend the internship to anyone who enjoys lots of collaboration and working in a fast-pace environment.
